South East Area Groups Meeting Saturday, 28th April 2012

South East Area Groups Meeting

The Lynton & Barnstaple Railway Trust’s Surrey Support Group organised this event so that members in in the South-East could meet with the L&BR Trust and Company officers to hear all the latest news. The event was judged a great success by all those who attended and it is intended that another will occur next year.

The Surrey Support Group would like to thank the Woking Miniature Railway for offering their clubhouse and railway for our use. We also offer our special thanks to those L&B members who attended the meeting and cheerfully chose to donate money which will be allocated to support one of the projects that will benefit the rebuild of our railway.

Surrey Group stalwart and prime mover of Saturday's get-together, Chris Dadson has sent us this photo of most of the presenters who participated at the event. taken by Norman Willsher of the EAST Support Group.

From left to right:
Barry Marshall (Chairman Surrey Group), Mike Dee (Chairman EAST Group), Peter Miles (Chairman L&BR Trust and Railway Company, 762 Club Project Manager), Mike Buse (Director EA), Tony Ely (Master Craftsman EAST Group), Phil Rawstron (seen in background in his role of managing the Surrey Group Sales Stand), and Tony Brown (Director EA).

Exeter based CIC Director Dave Blencowe and L&B Trust and Company Chairman Peter Miles - on his final duty of a very busy week all on behalf of the L&B!

The Surrey Support Group Sales Stand was also on hand to offer a selection of L&B branded items as was Paul Gower with a selection of his secondhand railway books.

The assembled throng

For those members who were unable to attend the Surrey Group get-together, the L&BR Trust and CIC AGM's together with the two day vintage event at Woody Bay Station next week is an ideal opportunity to catch up on all the latest L&B news as well as to see for the first time our Public Consultation Exhibition - more of this to follow.  Watch this space!
