Rowley – Parracombe: Trackbed Appeal

We have done it!

This new section adjoins our holding at the Rowley Cross Picnic Site and runs from there for 1200 yards to the edge of Parracombe Bank adding a significant section of the original track-bed to our present ownership.

The L&B ‘family’ (L&BR Trust, CIC and EA) now owns a significant length of the Phase II trackbed and we are also currently engaged in ongoing negotiations regarding four further sections of trackbed.  So in total we either own or are in positive consultations for approximately 80% of the route between Woody Bay and Wistlandpound and 65% of the section between Woody Bay and Caffyns. This will make an appreciable difference when we submit our Planning Application.

Please help if you can

Although we have completed the purchase of this section of L&B trackbed, you can still contribute to our next trackbed purchase in one of two ways:

1. Make a contribution to the L&BR Trust.  To do this CLICK HERE

Alternatively, download and print off the Appeal leaflet below, fill in the details and return the form to the address provided. Make sure you fill in the Gift Aid section too, because,  being a Charity we can reclaim the tax you have already paid to the Taxman (25%) on your contribution - making your contribution go even further.

2.  Purchase L&B CIC shares. Download a CIC Share Application Form HERE - but please read the attached regarding the purchase of shares before filling in and submitting the form.

By becoming a CIC shareholder you will receive a handsome certificate hand drawn by renowned L&B artist Eric Leslie.

All revenue derived from the purchase of CIC shares is dedicated towards extending the railway from Killington Lane towards Blackmoor.

If you have any questions or concerns regarding share purchase please email -
