Jack Lane

Jack Lane
Jack Lane is the second new Quarry Hunslet locomotive to be built by the Hunslet Engine Company since they recommenced construction of steam engines in 2005.

Unlike the other locomotive, Statfold, Jack Lane is an open cab locomotive, as was used by early locomotives for operation around quarries where height and space were restricted.

Jack Lane visited the Lynton & Barnstaple Railway over the September 2007 Gala, joining the other Hunslet ‘Statfold’, which was here for the duration of the season. This was Jack Lane’s first visit to the West Country and its only visit to the Lynton & Barnstaple Railway to date.
