About the Santa Specials

Every child wants to see Santa at Christmas, but busy shops with long queues and hour-long waits to see Santa can quickly drain your Christmas cheer…

Enjoy an exciting half-hour journey from Woody Bay Station to Killington Lane and back by steam train. At Woody Bay you can then get into the real Christmas spirit, experiencing the magic of Christmas with the chance to meet Santa himself!

Fares / Prices

Ticket prices for Santa Specials include the train ride and a visit to Santa, who gives all children a present. It should be noted that discounts, including members’ concessions, are not valid on Santa trains. Tickets will usually be posted to the address you provide within 14 days of receipt of bookings.

2008 PRICES

Dec 6th - 20th:
Adult £7.00, Child £7.00, Under 1 £2.00

Dec 21st - 24th:
Adult £8.00, Child £8.00, Under 1 £2.00

Late Bookings / On the Day

Please use the Santa booking form or the booking system below to book in advance if you wish to visit Santa - we very strongly recommend advanced booking if you are thinking of visiting.

We will try to accommodate last-minute bookings or visitors on the day without advance bookings, but this is strictly subject to availability. In 2007 many trains were fully booked, so please get in early! For bookings received after 30th November, tickets will be held at the booking office for collection on your day of travel.

Alterations / Cancellations

Refunds can be made only if cancellations are notified at least seven days before the date of travel. A £3 admin charge will be made for all cancellations, changes, alterations or exchanges.
Refunds cannot be issued if you do not arrive on time, and whilst every effort will be made to accommodate you on a later train, this cannot be guaranteed.

BOOK TICKETS

You will shortly be able to download our 2008 paper booking form and book through the post, or alternatively book by clicking on the appropriate price links below.

When you book tickets electronically:

• Once you have fully read these instructions, click on the appropriate BUY link below for your chosen ticket.
• On the next screen please enter the total number of tickets of the type you have selected that you require in the ‘Quantity’ box, then click recalculate.
• If you require additional tickets of a different type, please click on the ‘Continue Shopping’ link to return to this page and click on another type. Then repeat above if required.
• After you have got all the tickets you require on the screen - In the box marked ‘Special Queries or Requests’, please enter the ages of all the children, and if they are boys or girls.
• In the same box, please also specify your 1st, 2nd and 3rd choice of train time / day.

Dates available in 2008 are: December 6th, 7th, 13th, 14th, 20th, 21st, 22nd, 23rd & 24th. Trains operate at: 1100, 1200, 1330, 1430 & 1530.
