Work in Progress - 25th February

Taking advantage of the railway being closed to the public for a few days, work continued on the drainage ditch across the goods yard area by the concrete stable and the original Gents.

The main job today for the gang was to mix concrete and cement in to secure a ducting pipe across in front of the pedestrian gate. SR bogie open No.28320 with aggregate bags and cement on board was positioned nearby in the loading dock. The gang working as a team mixed cement to wheelbarrow across to the ditch to fix the piping in place.

1. Martyn Budd checks the level of the drainage ducting pipe by the stable.

2. Robin Edwards packing in the concrete to secure the pipe.

3. Mixing the cement from SR bogie open No. 28320 in the loading dock.

4. No.28320 in the loading dock.

5. Robin smooths off the cement top by a manhole behind the old Gents.

6. Almost complete: the drainage ditch and pipe by the gate.

This project will help to prevent the goods yard top surface from being washed away towards the platform and prevent the often muddy appearance of this area during periods of rainfall.

7. The volunteers also adjusted the cable run pipe on the down platform to the new down starter signal.
