L&B Autumn Gala 2016

Well that's it for another year! With apologies for the delay, here at last is a brief report and some photos of the L&B's Autumn Gala.

The gala was yet another success with many passengers carried. The event netting the L&B around £13,500.

The star of the show was of course LYD and our thanks to our friends from the FR for their continued support of our events. To see LYD hauling our four heritage carriages was a sight most thought they would never see.

The first set of photos is from Nigel Thompson

1. & 2. CHARLES WYTOCK with a very heavy freight train.

3. Latest arrival at Woody Bay FAITH built by John Uphill. Meanwhile Trevor Garnham (on the UP Starter) readies himself for another classic video.

4. Our own loco AXE in the loading dock.

5. LYD about to depart from the down platform.

6. Two of the vintage tractors on display.

7. LYD in the down platform.

8. Another view of LYD looking quite splendid

9. Has Paul Lewin General Manager of the WHR & FR not noticed the rather odd sign on LYD's cabsheet?

10. The miniature line during a lull in proceedings.

Chelfham station too was ready for the Gala. and Nigel also took some photos here.

On the Sunday afternoon many visitors enjoyed the Chelfham ambience and the teas!

Inside the extension the space was useful for a shop and limited catering.

The Hudson Wagon has now been repainted.
