The L&B Surrey Group at the Hollycombe Working Steam Museum

The Surrey Support Group represented the L&B with their sales and publicity stand at the two-day Railway Weekend Gala on the 5th/6th June at the Hollycombe Working Steam Museum.

Sales were reasonable, and we would like to thank the following members who assisted at the event: David Abrahim, Bob Brown, Chris Dadson, Paul Gower, Peter Jones, Geoff Kingate, Phil Rawstron, and Fran Smith.

The Surrey Support Group Sales Stand was located beneath the gazebo loaned by Bob Brown

And to prove that we believe in combining business with pleasure at these events, here we see Phil Rawstron & Peter Jones waiting for the start of a ride on the Hollycombe Museum’s 2ft. narrow gauge railway

Our next event is a meeting on Saturday 19th June at the clubhouse of the Woking Miniature Railway, Barrs Lane, Knaphill, Surrey. SatNav users should note the postal code of Barrs Lane is GU21 2JW.

The meeting will commence promptly at 2pm so please try to arrive at the venue before that time. Our meeting will include a debrief of the recent L&BR Trust’s AGM held at Lynton Town Hall on 15th.

The Surrey Support Group invite any member of the L&BR Trust to attend our meeting on 19th June. The next outing of the Group’s sales Stand will be over the weekend of 10th & 11th July, when we will be at two separate shows:

• The Steam Gala at the Chalk Pits Museum at Amberley, West Sussex; and

• Guildford Model Engineering Society Exhibition at Guildford, Surrey.
