New Toilet Block Underway

Work on Woody bay Station's new toilet block is now underway with the first important step - the footings, having now been dug and filled with concrete.

The new block is due for completion in the autumn and will externally resemble in appearance to the first two of the old concrete goods sheds that originally stood in the same location. The block will include all new toilet facilities and also separate staff mess and toilet facilities.

It is essential that work on the toilets is completed as soon as possible to allow us to remove the old temporary toilet block that was put in place prior to the opening of the railway, and also to improve the quality of facilities we provide for our visitors.

The construction is expected to cost up to £60k, although we are hoping to make a saving on these costs through the help of volunteers. As always, any help with funding this project would be gratefully received - admittedly it is not the most glamorous of projects, but it is one that is absolutely essential to our continued day to day operations and will be appreciated by almost every person who passes through our doors!
