Diesel locomotive ‘Holwell Castle’ departed Woody Bay Station for the last time on Monday when the loco was loaded onto a lorry to go to its new home.

The diesel arrived at Woody Bay in our second season having been restored in our own workshops. It has now been sold to the Golden Valley Railway at Butterley.

The L&B now has one diesel remaining for passenger use as required. This will be joined by a second twin loco in the next year, which will act as a standby.
