Surrey Support Group AGM weekend

The Surrey Support Group of the Lynton & Barnstaple Railway Trust will hold its AGM this Saturday, 6th March.  Venue is the clubhouse of the Woking Miniature Railway, Barrs Lane, Knaphill. GU2I 2JW.

The meeting is due to start at 2:00 pm; anyone intending to be there, please try to arrive before this time.

Come along and hear the latest news from Woody Bay. Also, meet the "team", and say what you would like the Group to do to support the railway in the coming year.

To give you an example of how the Surrey Group aids and assists the L&B Project: Surrey Group Treasurer, Phil Rawstron recently sent a cheque for £2,250 to the Essex Group Chairman Michael Dee to assist with costs associated with the restoration of the Heritage Coaches.

The money donated to the Essex Group by the Surrey Group came primarily from the sale of 600 copies of Gordon Browns latest  edition of his book to the shop at Woody Bay.  The rest came from sales at shows that the Surrey Group attended, these sales also helped finance the printing costs of the book in the first place.

The new down starter at Woody Bay was also funded and erected by the Surrey Group.

The Surrey Group is very much involved with the restoration of L&B, so if you live locally or indeed not so locally, why not come along and join in.

If you need directions and/or want a copy of the 2009 AGM Minutes, please contact Chairman Barry Marshall on 01256 471024.

With thanks to Gerald Chandler and Phil Rawstron for their input
