Visit to Woody Bay by the family of Gerald Chandler

Amongst visitors to Woody Bay Station on Saturday 4th March were Trevor and Shirley Butt, members of the family of the late Gerald Chandler. It was the most generous legacy left by Gerald to the L&B last year which permitted us to first purchase Fairview, and then Ivy Cottage, Parracombe. Trevor and Shirley were awarded a lifetime privilege pass in recognition of Gerald's pivotal contribution to the L&B.

L&BR Trustee, Company Finance Director and Exmoor Enterprise project leader Ian Cowling was present to greet Trevor and Shirley, show them around the station, and express our gratitude for the magnificent bequest, which has permitted two major pieces of the trackbed "jigsaw" to be acquired in such a short space of time.
