Roadworks TriangleGala Work Galore!

This week's report comes from Nigel Thompson:

1-3.Firstly, visiting Trust member Ian James (a volunteer from the Mid Hants. Railway) took these three images of ISAAC and the train today.

4. Today's footplate crew; Graham Bridge as fireman, and driver Neil Marshall - also a regular at the Mid Hants.

5. Guarding today are Ali Burgess and Jim Price.

6. Thursday Gang regulars Keith Lamprey and Graham Rust are joined by Ian James in clearing away a couple of overhanging and fallen branches from the grassy area above the shed in preparation for this area to house a marquee for the Gala weekend.

7. The main job for the rest of the Thursday gang was to erect this temporary marquee which becomes the Barbecue tent at the Gala. As ever many minds meant much discussion on the many ways to put up this now bi-annual tent here.

8. Others kept away from this task to repot some of the colourful plants around the station.

9. In the shed, Barrie Cann, using a rather small brush, puts the finishing touches to the repainted ballast wagon.

10. Close up of PILTONs name plate and works plate.

11. Jim Pounds paints the screw head of the new nameplate.

12. Jim's 'ghostly' head is reflected in the paintwork, showing clearly his quality of painting here recently.

13. Drewry Diesel PILTON is virtually complete now and shown stabled outside the shed.
