Roadworks TriangleSpring-like weather! Usual tasks plus somewhere new to work!

This week's report comes from Nigel Thompson.


1. & 2. As we recommence train operation this month, preparation is required. Graham Rust in action cleaning the carriages.

3. Nigel Spencer still painting the railings whilst behind him, three green locos – HEDDON HALL, ISAAC and AXE - are outside the shed.


4. The other green loco - Bagnall CHARLES WYTOCK - is undergoing preparation before a boiler lift and further inspection and repair. Engineer John Uphill checks inside the smokebox whilst…

5. … loco owner and L&B Company Director John Heys removes the various gauges in the cab.

6. & 7. Two of the Electrical Daves - Bloomfield and Drayson - complete the pit lighting upgrade project.


8-11. Jim Pounds applies a FIRST class transfer onto carriage No.17 now nearing the end of its repaint.

12-13. The leather in the First class coupe has also been refurbished and looks splendid.

14. Barrie Cann and Jim Pounds enjoying a light-hearted moment away from their arduous painting programme.
