Heavy snow settling on Western Exmoor early this morning almost resulted in the cancellation of the weekly volunteers work party.

However four volunteers did manage the journey from Barnstaple, Braunton, Combe Martin and even Exeter, supplementing the two members of staff from Ilfracombe and Parracombe. The roads were clear by 10:00 although the snow lay thick and even all over the site at Woody Bay.

The L&B January working weekend continued at a similar pace to the previous two days.

The working weekend continued on Friday, with a gang including teams from the Talyllyn and Isle of White railways, and more local members, soon had the new rails in place.  A second track gang was working further down (or Up!) the line towards Killington Lane.

A very welcome lunch was provided in the Station buffet. Teresa was able to keep the hunger pangs at bay, coping with a lunch running to three shifts!
