Published by Platform 5, the main listings are given under manufacturers names, followed by an index of locomotive names and a list of locations.

New-build locos and those currently under construction are also included and in this section can be found both E762 LYN and the frames of YEO. The front cover is graced by a photo of ISAAC in a familiar Exmoor setting.

Lavishly illustrated with a superb range of photographs, mainly taken in the 1950s and early 1960s - most of which have not been published before - serve to emphasise the beautiful countryside through which the line passed.

Rarely out of print - the Eighth edition, published in 2005 includes several previously unseen photos and is a return to the earlier style of Oakwood productions.  Edited by a well-known L&B historian it is without doubt the most well-loved book about the L&B.
