These pages provide an overview of the Surrey Area Group, one of the several area groups established to promote and support the Lynton & Barnstaple Railway.
The group has two primary roles and objectives. The first is to raise awareness and create funding for the railway. The second is to co-ordinate the activities of our members by organising work parties either at the railway in Devon, or undertaking practical projects locally.
The former we successfully achieve by attending local exhibitions and shows in and around Surrey, while our latter role benefits many of our members who are more able and prepared to participate in a planned activity that is organised for them.
We are always keen to hear from new members who reside within the County of Surrey or the immediate surrounding areas.
