West Midlands Group

Welcome to the West Midlands Area Support Group page

This group was formed in February 2012 and it's intention is to provide a focus for L&BR Trust members in the West Midlands (Wolverhampton-Birmingham-Coventry) and Severn Valley areas.

In addition we intend to:

  • provide a forum for Trust members to meet, socialize and keep up-to-date with developments on the railway;
  • promote the Railway and increase the membership;
  • support the L&B railway in any way we can.

The Group is still very young and finding its feet; its future success is very much dependent on the support of its local members. It you live in the area, please try and come along - you'll be made very welcome.

Currently, the Group meets about once every two months on a Friday evening at Kidderminster Railway Museum (adjacent to the SVR station). Meetings commence at 7.30pm. Non members are welcome. Look forward to seeing you there.

North West and West Midlands Groups at G Scale gathering

2013

The L&B was invited to attend the G Scale National Gathering at Staffordshire County Showground, Stafford, on Sunday 24 March 2013.  Arriving through deep snow, fortunately cleared from the main roads, but piled up each side in places, we wondered whether any visitors would turn up for this event.  But garden railway enthusiasts are a hardy bunch, and the two large halls of the show were busy throughout the day.
