On Track - Funding update June 2020
The support for our ‘On Track’ appeal remains excellent!
Currently the total stands at over £35,000. A very good result so far! This will help towards the costs that have and will continue to build up due to COVID-19. It isn’t over yet!
Many thanks to all of you who have contributed to this vital appeal.
Re-opening the Railway, hopefully before too long, will involve all sorts of requirements including social distancing, wider separation on the train as well as in any of our refreshment areas. We will not be able to carry as many passengers as would normally be the case.
All of this – and more – will add to the costs that have to be covered and the income generated will be less than peak season would be expected to provide. This means that the L&BR will be short of vital funds to carry us through next winter. Depleted reserves are bad news! ‘On Track’ is intended to cover as much of these costs as possible.
Whilst we are uncertain of when and how we can re-open there is still the opportunity to purchase ‘Advance Tickets’ from the shop at Woody Bay. This income goes direct to the operating company – the CIC – and gives you tickets to redeem at any time in the future. Why not buy some and store up treats to look forward to.
If you have contributed to ‘On Track’, many thanks. If not please do so now if you can.
