New book – “Modelling the L&B”

New book – “Modelling the L&B”

With the growing availability of accurate ready-to-run models of Lynton & Barnstaple locomotives and rolling stock, and a wide range of kits and other relevant items, many people are considering creating an L&B model. This new book will help them.

The A4 portrait format 48-page soft-cover book uses colour throughout, and shows the work of many L&B modellers past and present. This book will be of interest to a wide range of people, non-specialist modellers seeking ideas for using ready-to-run L&B models on a layout to suit their capabilities, space and budget, as well as existing modellers interested in assembling kits or in scratchbuilding.

Models in 4mm/1ft scale, the larger 7mm/1ft scale, and the popular garden railway scales that offer scope for live-steam or electric locomotives are all covered in this book.

The contents include:

• The Lynton & Barnstaple Railway
• Why model the L&B?
• Eras of the line – from construction to modern times
• The earliest L&B modellers – from ninety years ago onwards
