Roadworks TriangleFestive Volunteers receive a Thank You buffet!

This weeks report comes from Nigel Thompson - the weather has still not improved!

Firstly, some work did occur today!

1. & 2. The track gang were down (up) the line where they replaced another 13 sleepers - despite the interruptions of heavy showers and a buffet lunch.

3. Dave Evans was in the shed creating an extension to the workshop.

4. Geoff Long busy working on Carriage No.17.... was Jim Pounds.

6. Dave Hallett supervises a warming fire in LYN ready for this weekend's Santa Specials.

7. LYN suitably decorated for the Santa Trains - Driver Graham Bridge stands alongside.

8. Keith Lamprey clears the platform of leaves.

9. Stalwart volunteers at Woody Bay, Tony and Irene Cross relaxing in the Tea Room.

10. Commercial manager Rachel Nutley was in the office processing Santa Special bookings.

11. Your reporter, Nigel Thompson was also relaxing in the Tea Room.

12. Dave Bloomfield upgrading lights in the stable.

13. Tim Woods came especially for the buffet lunch.

14. Graham Varney in his alternative Santa hat.

15. A splendid presentation of goodies for the buffet lunch was laid out for all staff and volunteers at Woody Bay Station today.

16. & 17. Thursday Gang volunteers queue up for their buffet.

18. Dave Peach and Roger Bye look forward to their buffet.

19. Everyone enjoying the buffet in the marquee today.

20. Martyn Budd L&BR General Manager, speaking on behalf of the management team, explains that the buffet is a "Thank You" the Thursday Gang for all their hard work throughout the year.
