Work in Progress: 31st May

Roadworks TriangleLYN's first Whitsun half-term on the L&B.

1. LYN arrives at Woody Bay and is well photographed by our visitors.

2. After arrival, the passengers disembark. It's been a busy week with good numbers of passengers most days.

3. AXE was being steamed today prior to a boiler test on Friday which hopefully will allow AXE to continue to operate for another 12 months.

4.& 5. Paint Shop Boys Barrie and Jim have tidied up and fitted out their 'home'. Neat shelving, paints and tools, all neatly stored are shown off by the boys!

6. At lunchtime, Brod Bass and Geoff Cowan were distributing the new pre-ordered L&BR hi-viz jackets. Many of the Thursday gang had treated themselves and were well satisfied with their purchases.

7. Another small bench seat for Nigel Spencer to repair, restore, and repaint.

8. LYN's footplate crew today are driver Graham Bridge and fireman Bradley Lambert.

9. A smartly dressed Rob Baker was today's Booking Office Clerk.

10. The miniature railway has been operating this week. LITTLE OLLIE was resting in-between trains.

11. After restoration by volunteer Peter Holland at Chelfham, the platform trolley (ex Braunton) and two sack trucks (ex Axminster) have now been delivered to Woody Bay to be displayed on the up platform.
