Roadworks TriangleNormality resumes!

This weeks report comes from Nigel Thompson.

"After the busy and hectic Gala Weekend, the railway returned to a 'normal' day with visitors enjoying the operating railway. There were fewer volunteers about too, but as ever there's plenty to do."

1. LYN is today's engine as the morning visitors observe from the platform.

2. Electrical Daves Bloomfield and Drayson, carried out some maintenance in the signal cabin with Guard Bob Ayres.

3. The Paint Shop Boys are now working on some minor adjustments to new carriage, No.5. Before commencing, Jim Pounds held a briefing with his team of Barrie Cann, Geoff Long and Phil Dixon in one of the compartments

4. The other DZ open wagon was emptied of remaining coal and cleaned up inside ready for its next load, which will be new sleepers for the winter track maintenance programme.

Hole digging! Volunteers take turns to dig out a new hole for an extra inspection chamber for the septic tank. Others watch!

5. Dave Pratt - in the hole..

6. Nick Brown - over the hole.

7. Anne Belsey - beside the hole!

8. LYN and the train passes as the gang progresses the digging.
