Wed 19 March:
Rail and bus trip to Christow (Exeter & Teign Valley Railway)

Several L&B regulars travelled by train to Exeter thence by bus to Christow (a former station and goods yard on the old Exeter-Newton Abbot inland route). The site is privately owned but hosts quite a collection of standard and narrow gauge rolling stock.

1. Owner Colin Burges (right) and the group by the 'Jenny Wren' tram wagon before the ride.

2. L&B members enjoy their ride on the tram wagon down the narrow gauge line.

3. The standard gauge Wickham Trolley with its own turntable 'skates' is demonstrated.

4. Lunch was at the Teign House Inn before ...

5. ... boarding the bus back to Exeter.

Later there was time for a rail trip to Exmouth, a pub visit in Exeter and the usual train back to Barnstaple.
