EAST Group AGM, 25th May 2019 UPDATE

The L&BR EAST Group AGM UPDATE

A short report on Group progress during the last year was given by the deputy chairman Steve Arthurs, highlighting progress on Carriage No.5 and the rebuild of Van 23. Although he has resigned as Chairman, Tony Ely will continue in his role of Technical Manager for the Group and is currently involved with the design of the underframe for Van 23. He is also looking forward and planning for our next project which will be Carriage No.1.

Hours worked by Volunteers during 2018 and to the end of March 2019 were 2026 hours and 733 hours

Election of Officers for the coming year:

Nominations were received for the post of: Chairman, Treasurer and 3 committee members.

The posts of Deputy Chairman, Secretary and two further committee members remain open, volunteers,
especially for Secretary would be most welcome.

The Group Officers for 2019 are:

Chairman: Steve Arthurs
Secretary: Vacant
Treasurer: David Gandell
Committee: Malcolm Cohen, John Myhill & Dave Ely.
Ex Officio - Charles Summers, L&BR Trustee with reponsibility for Heritage Carriages.

Questions from the members included: The possibility of opening the workshop on Saturdays - we hope to commence Saturday opening shortly.

A very generous contribution towards reconstruction of Van 23 was received at the meeting, which closed at 15:15 and was followed by refreshments provided by the volunteers.
