LYN and LEW with the first 5 coach train since 1935

The FR's LYD was re-named LEW (the L&B's long-lost engine - click HERE for more details) for the duration of the Gala. A rather dastardly plan was to leave the new name in place and see how long it took for Ffestiniog to notice!

More news from the Trust: The planning application (70504) was re-submitted for Blackmoor Gate Station - this planning lapsed back in June.

The proposal is exactly the same as last time: Change of use of public house to railway station to include restaurant, cafe and extension to house, ticket hall and shop, change of use of dwelling to railway museum, offices and flat, together with formation of pedestrian underpass to railway car park' this is in anticipation of our purchase of the Old Station House Inn.

Van 23, We await the completed drawings for Van 23 from the Trust, so that we can finalise the dimensions for the frames and body. The oak for the frames has been delivered and is stacked waiting details for cutting and shaping. In the meantime, volunteers have been sorting and cleaning the metalwork and will start to prepare component parts.

On the Workshop front, we now have new lightweight step-ladders, and a new vacuum cleaner. The electrics will be modified to suit our donated lathes, power and lighting. The new area for storage for painted components and the metalworking area are installed and racking is being created.

Note: The L&B East stand attended ExpoNG at Swanley on the 26th October manned by Tony and Sheila Ely.
