Surrey Support Group - Kempton Park Toy & Train Collectors Fair

On Sunday 21st May the Surrey Support Group attended the Toy & Train Collectors Fair at Kempton Park Racecourse where we had a 12 foot sales stand.

We did not take our usual range of Woody Bay items, as our purpose at this event was solely to dispose of some of the railway models and books which were bequeathed to us following the passing of Gerald Chandler last year. We did however have a quantity of 2017 Timetable leaflets which were enthusiastically taken by visitors.

This was the first time the Surrey Support Group had been to a Toy & Railway Collectors Fair competing directly with other traders with similar items. Unlike the usual railway shows and exhibitions we normally attend, it was interesting to discover that 90% of our sales were achieved within the first 1½ hours of the event.

We are pleased to report that our sales total at this one event amounted to almost £600 which will be allocated towards one or more L&BR projects.
