Four of us had lunch at the Woody bay station cafe while we were waiting to take a trip on the train during the 2nd week of August.  My husband and I live locally and our guests were from London.  I have to say it was the best lunch we have had locally - not only was it delicious and beautifully prepared, but the service was exceptional.  What a gem!

I called in on my way to a holiday in Cornwall and was very impressed with the railway atmosphere and the friendly staff.   The station is very attractive and would recommend anyone in the area making a point of visiting Woody Bay. I wish them well in their endeavours - it has already been done in North Wales so why not here in Devon?

I just wanted to let you know how much I love your website. Its updated really frequently and following my two visits to you this year I keep up to date with your railway adventure.

Having booked 21 adults and 15 children in for a Santa Special, I would like to say thank you for a great morning - all our party enjoyed it.  Having 4 children of my own I am well experienced in meeting Father Christmas - I must say he was absolutely fab! Happy Christmas to you all

Just a line to say how much I enjoy your website - so do my two foster youngsters Matthew and Selina. The kids have sent this weeks pocket-money for your 'cause'. Hoping you achieve your goal

We had an excellent family day out on the railway recently, 8 of us aged from 7 - 70 all enjoyed 2 rides and a lovely lunch.

We recently visited your railway at Woody Bay and wish to say how impressed we were with the warm and friendly welcome we had from all the volunteer staff and what an informative and enjoyable trip it was. Years ago we never thought we would ever see any of the famous Lynton and Barnstaple Railway back in working order - amazing!

Back in 2010, I saw an L&B loco haul a passenger train into Woody Bay station - something I never thought any of us would experience. This was crowned in 2013 when coal fired LYD in SR livery hauled coaches No. 7 and 17 - two 'full size' L&B carriages built using the remaining original components - up that famous 1 in 50. Simply a fantastic achievement!

I greatly enjoyed visiting your railway with Mr Portillo yesterday evening in his excellent 'Railway Journeys' TV programme!
