Last Saturday, Henry our railway collecting dog, had a very special visit from Ian Roome, the MP for North Devon.
Ian presented Henry with a gold medal, marking an astonishing achievement of passing the £2500 raised for the railway and Woking Homes.
Continuing the long tradition of dogs raising money for charity at railway stations, Henry is the last in the UK and is usually at Woody Bay station with his owner John Bond on Tuesdays and Saturdays.
We captured the occasion in a new Steam on the Moor episode and we have also given Henry his own web page where you can find out more about the fascinating history of railway collecting dogs.
