SR Station Benches

Nov

Thanks to the efforts of Chris Dadson, L&B Trust Member (also very active with the Surrey support Group) the railway has now acquired six original Southern Railway platform bench seats. Chris learnt that the West Somerset Railway had a number of these seats for sale. Located at various stations along the line, the WSR is planning to replace them all with GWR style seats. Chris liaised with WSR and made the arrangements for their purchase and delivery.

2016

Well that's it for another year! With apologies for the delay, here at last is a brief report and some photos of the L&B's Autumn Gala.

The gala was yet another success with many passengers carried. The event netting the L&B around £13,500.

The star of the show was of course LYD and our thanks to our friends from the FR for their continued support of our events. To see LYD hauling our four heritage carriages was a sight most thought they would never see.
