About Lynton & Barnstaple Railway

FAQ

Well-behaved dogs and their owners are always welcome and all dogs travel FREE provided they are accompanied by a fare-paying adult. The only conditions are that they are kept on a lead and for reasons of hygiene are not permitted on the seats. If your dog enjoys the ride then please consider making a small donation.

We regret that due to space constraints, pushchairs and buggies cannot be accommodated on trains, however there is space for them to be left at the station at the owners’ own risk.

Groups - Discounts are available for group travel. You can also book your own train or hire the whole railway for your own event. Please contact us for further details.

Wheelchairs 30” wide or less can be accommodated on the train. Those with larger wheelchairs may wish to contact the railway in advance to discuss arrangements. All our normal service trains have space for customers with mobility impairments, including two wheelchair spaces. A wheelchair ramp is available - just ask a member of our staff for assistance.

Although we can accommodate wheelchairs on our trains, due to the narrowness of our carriages there is no turning space on the train.

See our Accessibility Statement for more details.

Please note that discount vouchers or group discount cannot be combined with any other offer, promotion or voucher and can only be used to purchase train tickets and do not apply during special events.

We offer a 50% discount if you return for a visit and travel any time within the next 28 days. Just retain your ticket.
