L&B uniform buttons now available

As well as being an attractive and collectable item, these will add the finishing touch to Guards, Porters, Drivers, Firemen, Station Masters staff uniforms.


The buttons are die-stamped and manufactured in two-parts - just like the originals. The back is a stock standard-size produced from existing dies/tools. The base metal is a copper alloy and the button finished in nickel electroplate.

Regret there will be no more Footplate Experience days until AXE returns to service after undergoing a 10 year overhaul. Hard to believe but AXE has been in service now for 10 years!

Also, Footplate Rides regret these will be available only as "pay on the day".

The L&B wins again!

Wednesday 29th November. L&B team win local railway quiz.

At the Rising Sun Umberleigh, an L&BR Devon Group team led by Nigel Thompson won the Annual Railway Quiz organised by the Tarka Rail Association.

Conquering the other local teams from Bideford, Dartmoor Railway, Umberleigh History and Railway Society and as well as the Tarka Rail Association.

Questions on a variety of railway topics were compiled by former L&BR Volunteer Philip Shelton together with a picture location quiz by Andy Hedges.
