Meet Henry & Bertie

Henry, our fundraising dog is a much-loved and regular fixture at Woody Bay station. Re-creating the fundraising dogs of the last century which could be seen at many large stations around the country, Henry has raised over £5000 for the railway and Woking Homes (the former railway orphanage).

Bring your dog, including Golden Retrievers, along to this special free to attend event on Saturday 30th May. Meet Henry and his nephew Bertie, celebrate railway collecting dogs and have a doggie focused railway day out.

Be photographed with Henry and Bertie and have a cuddle, find out more about the unique social history of fund raising dogs and enjoy our steam train services (normal fares apply). As always, our canine friends ride free on our services (but not in 1st class) are welcome in our tea room and in our woodland.

Please be aware dogs must be kept on a lead throughout their whole visit (including in the woodland).
