Rails and Dinosaur Tails

Join us for some dinosaur fun at Woody Bay Station! Baxter the T-Rex and his adorable baby dino friends will be exploring the station throughout the day! Please see below regarding roaming meet and greet times! Come along to meet Baxter and friends, take part in our kids trail, explore the woodland and see what dinosaur tracks you can find!               

Travel in style with our specially decorated dinosaur themed carriages for the weekend. Services will be running throughout the day from Woody Bay Station down to Killington Lane return.

Why not take part in our free kids trail around Woody Bay Station, small woodland, plus Killington Lane.

Pick up your free trail sheet and pencils from the Station Shop, all children receive a free sticker for every completed trail sheet!

Tickets

Tickets will be valid for either a morning session from 10:00 till 13:00 or an afternoon session from 13:00 till 16:30. Your ticket offers you access to Woody Bay Station between your chosen time period and train services as well so you may take part in multiple journeys.  Click here to pre-book your tickets today!

Prices

  • Morning session (10:00 – 13:00) Under 14 years: Free  
  • Morning session (10:00 -13:00) Adult: £12.00
  • Morning session (10:00 - 13:00) Young  Adult (14-21 years): £12.00

 

  • Afternoon session (13:00 -16:30) Under 14 years: Free
  • Afternoon session (13:00 -16:30) Adult: £12.00
  • Afternoon session (13:00 -16:30) Young Adult (14 – 21 years): £12.00

1st Class train upgrades will be available on the day from check-in and will be priced at £3.50 per passenger per trip. Please be aware spaces are limited and will be available on a first come first served basis.

 

Tearoom & Station Shop

The Tearoom will be open both days from 10:00 till 16:00, serving a range of light refreshments including hot & cold drinks, sandwiches, warm pasties, sausage rolls, cakes and cream teas.

Along with our Tearoom our Station Shop will be open with a range of dinosaur goodies available to purchase.

We have a large free carpark available at Woody Bay Station, this includes disabled parking.

Train Times

From Woody Bay Station to Killington Lane are as followed:

10.45am - 11.30 - 12.15 - 13.30 - 14.15 - 15.00 - 16:00.

2 mile return journey (approximately 20 minutes)

Garden Railway & Miniature Railway

Our  garden railway (16mm) and miniature railway will be running both days at the weekend.

Please be aware this is weather dependent.

Minature Railway rides will be avilable for £1.00 per person per ride.

Terms & Conditions

- We recommend pre-booking for this event to avoid disappointment on the day! Click here to pre-book tickets today!

 

- Once pre-booked you will receive a confirmation email, this confirmation email will be your ticket on the day which will need to be shown at check-in to receive session wristbands. You will require tickets/wristbands for platform entry.

 

- During busy periods you may have to wait for the next available train departure to get a seat. However we will ensure each wristband holder participates in at least one return journey.

 

- We are unable to reserve seats, places will be available on a first come first served basis. 

 

- Since this is a special event, discounts like National Trust and The Old Station Inn will not be available.

 

- Buggies/Prams: We regret that due to space constraints, pushchairs and buggies cannot be accommodated on trains, however there is space for them to be left at the station at the owners’ own risk.

 

- Dogs: We are a dog friendly railway, well behaved dogs and their owners are more than welcome to attend Dino days. In addition, dogs travel  for FREE provided that their owners have purchased a ticket and other passengers do not object. We only ask that for reasons of hygiene dogs are not allowed in 1st Class compartments or on the seats in 3rd Class. Please be aware dogs must be kept on a lead throughout their visit.

 

- In the event we need to cancel this special due to unforeseen circumstances for example adverse weather we will ensure to contact pre-booked passengers with options regarding their tickets.
