Join Ruby the Red Megalosaurus and her adorable baby dinosaur friends as they roam the station throughout the day. Check the roaming meet-and-greet schedule below to find out when you can meet Ruby and her prehistoric pals.

Young explorers can take part in our exciting Dinosaur Trail, discover hidden dinosaur tracks around the station and woodland, and enjoy a fun-filled family day out in beautiful surroundings.

All Aboard the Explore-a-saurus

Ride in style aboard our heritage steam train in specially decorated dinosaur-themed carriages, running throughout the day between Woody Bay Station and Killington Lane.

Your ticket allows unlimited travel during your chosen session, so you can enjoy multiple train journeys and make the most of your visit.

Free Dinosaur Trail

Take part in our free children's Dinosaur Trail around Woody Bay Station, the woodland area, and Killington Lane.

Pick up your free trail sheet and pencils from the Station Shop. Every child who completes the trail will receive a free dinosaur sticker!

Tickets are available for one of two sessions:

Morning Session: 10:00am – 1:00pm
Afternoon Session: 1:00pm – 4:30pm

Your ticket offers you access to Woody Bay Station between your chosen time period and train services as well so you may take part in multiple journeys.

Steam Train Rides

Our regular steam trains will be running with services available throughout the day.

Departure Train Times From Woody Bay Station to Killington Lane:

10.45 – 11.30 – 12.15 – 13.30 – 14.15 – 15.00 – 16.00.

2 mile return journey (approximately 20 minutes)

First Class Upgrade (Available On The Day)

Upgrade on the day and travel in style and comfort in one of our 1st class compartments. You can purchase your upgrade on the day from our Station shop. This available on a first come first serve basis and cannot be pre-booked.

£3.50 per person (valid for one return trip)

Garden Railway

Our garden railway (16mm) will be running both days at the weekend.

Location: Situated in North Devon The Old Station Inn is located on the A39/A399 Junction at Blackmoor Gate. With only being 4 miles away from Woody Bay Station makes the perfect stop off after or before your visit.

Terms & Conditions

- We recommend pre-booking for this event to avoid disappointment on the day! Click here to pre-book tickets today!

- Once pre-booked you will receive a confirmation email, this confirmation email will be your ticket on the day which will need to be shown at check-in to receive session wristbands. You will require tickets/wristbands for platform entry.

- During busy periods you may have to wait for the next available train departure to get a seat. However we will ensure each wristband holder participates in at least one return journey.

- We are unable to reserve seats, places will be available on a first come first served basis.

- Since this is a special event, discounts like National Trust and The Old Station Inn will not be available.

- Buggies/Prams: We regret that due to space constraints, pushchairs and buggies cannot be accommodated on trains, however there is space for them to be left at the station at the owners’ own risk.

- Dogs: We are a dog friendly railway, well behaved dogs and their owners are more than welcome to attend Dino days. In addition, dogs travel for FREE provided that their owners have purchased a ticket and other passengers do not object. We only ask that for reasons of hygiene dogs are not allowed in 1st Class compartments or on the seats in 3rd Class. Please be aware dogs must be kept on a lead throughout their visit.

- In the event we need to cancel this special due to unforeseen circumstances for example adverse weather we will ensure to contact pre-booked passengers with options regarding their tickets.
