Carriage No. 7 Update

As reagular readers will be aware, carriage no. 7 is currently with the team in Essex undergoing some remedial work. Over recent weeks the team have:

  • Repleaced a broken window has been.
  • The seat supports under the entrance to the observation section have now been fitted with their correct metal shoes and angled struts.
  • The correct pattern roller blind/weatherguards have been fitted
  • Metal panels have been replaced covering the repaired sole bar and repainting is in progress.
  • Sliding walls between compatments have been fitted.
  • The supports for the hat racks are ready to be fitted.
  • The roof has been repainted and extensions to the rain gutters fitted.

When complete, no. 7 will be brought back to Woody Bay to join the rest of the heritage carriage fleet.
