The Carriage Workshop in Essex has recently received Carriage No. 7 from Woody Bay for major repair to the wooden "solebar" (he main wooden frame underneath the carriage).
All the doors and lower panels have been removed and we have removing the securing bolts to the steel underframe ready for lifting.
The team has been cutting between the sole bars and the floor to enable the carriage body to be lifted from its underframe, which will probably be next week.
We have also removed the original plywood walls between the compartment's to enable the installation of the sliding walls and the hat racks as featuring in the other carriages.
